Two guys.
One obsession.

Weekday Golf is a podcast about the inner life of golf.

We started the show after realizing we'd reached a kind of golden stage in our golf lives—where we deeply appreciate everything the game has given us: the camaraderie, the competition, the laughs, and the memories. At the same time, we're still able to play some of our best golf, which makes it all feel that much more meaningful.

Through conversations with players, teachers, and friends of the game, Weekday Golf explores competition, identity, friendship, and the moments that make golf more than just a sport.

To deepen our relationship with the game—and with the people we play it with.

We're interested in the parts of golf that don't show up on a scorecard: the friendships, the routines, the competition, the hang, and the reasons you keep coming back to this frustrating, impossible—and perfect—game.

The Hosts

Preston Becker
Preston Becker
Co-Host

Preston Becker is a good golfer who still believes his best golf might still be in there somewhere.

He met Oliver at The Olympic Club, where the two became regular playing partners, trip organizers, game creators, and enthusiastic participants in the kind of golf where the group matters more than the game.

While Preston enjoys competing, he's most drawn to the social side of golf: the chemistry of a foursome, the rhythm of a great golf trip, and the stories that somehow get better every year. His general belief is that a great foursome beats a great round.

That perspective, paired with Oliver's more improvement-oriented approach, shapes many of the conversations on Weekday Golf.

Outside the podcast, Preston has a background in real estate investment and is a licensed psychotherapist in California. He also serves as Vice Chairman of the 2028 PGA Championship at The Olympic Club. He lives in San Francisco with his wife and three daughters.

Oliver Hsiang
Oliver Hsiang
Co-Host

Oliver Hsiang is a good, not great, golfer who feels like he's this close to playing his best golf.

He met Preston at The Olympic Club, where they became frequent playing partners and co-conspirators in golf trips, games, and the kind of rounds that are as much about the people as the golf.

A former member of the Harvard golf team, Oliver played competitive junior golf but lost his love for the game during college, and spent much of the following decade away from golf altogether.

When he returned, he found something different: not simply playing the game, but a much more meaningful appreciation of golf through the lens of friendship, camaraderie, and fun. He still cares (a lot) about game improvement, but that experience shapes how he approaches the game—and what he hopes to explore through Weekday Golf.

Outside of golf, Oliver has a background in technology, startups, and digital media. He lives in San Francisco with his wife and two sons.
